Conditions
Arthritis, lupus, gout, osteoporosis, fibromyalgia and more.
Rheumatoid arthritis
Chronic joint inflammation, mainly in the hands and feet, causing pain, swelling and morning stiffness. Early diagnosis allows treatment to control it and protect the joints.
Lupus (SLE)
An autoimmune disease: the immune system attacks the body and may affect the skin, joints, kidneys and other organs. It needs close follow-up to keep it under control.
Gout
Attacks of intense pain and swelling in a joint, often the big toe, caused by uric acid buildup. We treat both the attack and the prevention of new episodes.
Osteoarthritis
Wear of joint cartilage, common in knees, hips and hands. Care aims to reduce pain and keep you moving, with medication, exercise and injections when indicated.
Spondyloarthritis (including ankylosing spondylitis)
Inflammation of the spine and pelvic joints causing low back pain that is worse at rest and in the morning. It often begins in young adults.
Psoriatic arthritis
Arthritis that develops in some people with psoriasis, a skin condition. It can affect fingers, nails, spine and tendons.
Sjögren’s syndrome
An autoimmune disease that dries the eyes and mouth, sometimes with fatigue and joint pain. Treatment relieves symptoms and monitors other organs.
Vasculitis
Inflammation of the blood vessels that can affect the skin, nerves, kidneys or other organs depending on the type. It is diagnosed with specific tests and needs specialized treatment.
Fibromyalgia
Widespread muscle pain, often with fatigue and unrefreshing sleep. Care combines medication, physical activity and sleep habits.
Osteoporosis
Loss of bone density that makes bones more fragile and prone to fractures. It is detected with a bone density scan and treated to lower fracture risk.
Polymyalgia rheumatica
Pain and stiffness in the shoulders, neck and hips, more common after age 50. It needs diagnosis and monitoring because of its link to inflammation of certain arteries.
Scleroderma (systemic sclerosis)
An autoimmune disease that hardens the skin and may affect the lungs, digestive tract and other organs. It needs specialized follow-up.
Myositis
Inflammation of the muscles causing weakness, mainly in the shoulders and hips, with trouble climbing stairs or raising the arms. It is confirmed with blood work and specific tests.
Antiphospholipid syndrome
An autoimmune disorder that increases the tendency to form clots in veins or arteries and can affect pregnancy. It is diagnosed with blood tests and needs follow-up.
Juvenile arthritis
Arthritis that begins before age 16, with pain, swelling or stiffness in one or more joints. Timely diagnosis helps protect growth and movement.
