Diagnostic studies
Ultrasound, Doppler and study review.
Abdominal ultrasound
Checks the liver, gallbladder, pancreas, kidneys and spleen with sound waves, no radiation. It is painless and usually done fasting.
Pelvic ultrasound
Evaluates the uterus and ovaries, or the bladder and prostate. It can be done over the abdomen or, in some cases, internally for more detail.
Thyroid and neck ultrasound
Shows thyroid size, nodules and neck lymph nodes. It is the first test when a lump is felt in the neck.
Breast ultrasound
Complements mammography and helps tell whether a lump is a fluid-filled cyst or a solid lesion.
Musculoskeletal ultrasound
Evaluates tendons, muscles and joints, such as the shoulder, knee or wrist, while you move, to find tears or inflammation.
Soft tissue ultrasound
Studies lumps under the skin, cysts, hernias or abscesses to learn what they are and how deep they go.
Scrotal ultrasound
Evaluates the testicles and nearby structures when there is pain, swelling or a lump.
Venous and arterial Doppler
Measures blood flow in arm or leg veins and arteries to detect clots, varicose veins or narrowed arteries.
Carotid Doppler
Checks the neck arteries that carry blood to the brain, looking for narrowing or plaque.
Imaging interpretation (X-ray, mammography, CT, bone density)
If your X-ray, mammogram, CT scan or bone density scan was done at another accredited facility, I can review and interpret it and prepare the report for your doctor. You can bring the study, or the facility can contact me.
